With the issue of stem-cell research on the November ballot in Missouri, voters may be having trouble wading through the rhetoric from both sides on the issue. They will have an opportunity over two nights in September to hear both sides in an atmosphere far removed from the campaign trail.

The Church of St. Michael and St. George in Clayton is hosting a two-evening lecture series on the language of stem-cell research and its relevance to people's lives. The series begins September 7, at 7:00 p.m., with Dr. William B. Neaves, president and CEO of Stowers Institute for Medical Research in Kansas City, discussing the scientific aspects of stem-cell research. The series concludes on September 14 at 7:00 p.m., with Dr. Robert P. George, professor of jurisprudence at Princeton University, sharing his thoughts on the moral and social implications of the controversial subject.

Both lectures will take place in the Great Hall at the church, 6345 Wydown Blvd., Clayton. For more information, call 314.721.1502.
