The House of Deputies Committee on Prayer Book, Liturgy and Church Music presented its Report #9 on HB Message #53 on Resolution A059 (Revise Book of Common Prayer for Revised Common Lectionary) and moved concurrence.

The President called for a Vote by Orders.

Deputy Meyers of Chicago asked for a ruling of the Chair on whether the Rules of Order required a Vote by Orders. The President called Deputy Meyers to conference at the platform and asked the House of Deputies Committee on Prayer Book, Liturgy and Church Music to continue with their next report until a ruling was made.

The Secretary announced that Resolutions D023 (Stopping the Decline of Membership) and A059 (Revise Book of Common Prayer for Revised Common Lectionary) had been removed from the Consent Calendar by the clerical & lay deputations of Central Florida and the clerical deputation of South Carolina.

The President ruled that she was in error for calling for a Vote by Orders on Resolution A059.

The House of Deputies Committee on Prayer Book, Liturgy and Church Music presented its Report #9 on Resolution A059 (Revise Book of Common Prayer for Revised Common Lectionary) and moved concurrence.

Deputy Ambos of New Jersey appealed the President’s ruling that a Vote by Orders was not necessary. The President called on Deputy Meyers of Chicago to explain the President’s ruling.
