Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 68th General Convention refers to parishes, dioceses, and provinces of this Church for critical study and reflection, the report of the Joint Commission on Peace on deterrence made to the House of Bishops meeting in 1984, and the statement on deterrence approved in substance by the World Council of Churches at its meeting in the Summer of 1983 in Vancouver, the Diocese of Washington's study entitled "The Nuclear Dilemma," and the 1983 Roman Catholic Bishops' Letter entitled "The Challenge of Peace, God's Promise and Our Response."
