Resolved, That this Convention notify the President of the United States, the Secretary of State, Episcopalian and other appropriate members of Congress, and the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China of our continuing concern; and be it further

Resolved, That the following message be sent through Bishop K.H. Ting, President of the China Christian Council, Nanjing Theological Seminary, Nanjing, People's Republic of China:

To Our Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ! Saint Paul reminds us that "Just as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ--if one member suffers, all suffer together." (I Corinthians 12:12,26)

We resolved to send to the Church in China a message of sympathy and support for its life and witness in very trying times. We want you to be aware of our deep concern and out sincere prayers that the witness of the Chinese Church will be and influence for good in the days ahead in China. God be with you as you seek to bear witness to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

In Christ's Love,

The Episcopal Church
