Resolved, That the 70th General Convention express its solidarity with sugar cane workers and their families in light of the neglect, anguish and terror suffered by all those who live in the Sugar Plantations of the Dominican Republic; and be it further

Resolved, That the Episcopal Church (Anglican) urge the Haitian and Dominican authorities to work to guarantee the human rights of these people as children of God and also to take emergency steps to guarantee the human rights of these people being deported or about to be deported without their earnings, their personal effects, and their families; and be it further

Resolved, That this Convention express its full support and solidarity with the deported Haitians, their broken families, and with the other sugar cane workers through the Dioceses of Haiti and the Dominican Republic; and be it further

Resolved, That copies of this resolution be sent to the governments of Haiti and the Dominican Republic and desk officers for these countries in the Department of State.
