Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That this 71st General Convention of the Episcopal Church in the USA commend the Most Rev. Yona Okoth, Archibishop of Uganda, for his compassionate reponse to and intervention on behalf of the thousands of orphans created by years of civil war and by the catastrophic effects of the AIDS epidemic; and be it further

Resolved, That this General Convention encourage all the baptized of this Church to respond to the Ugandan orphan crisis by supporting the work of:

The Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief,

The Christian Children's Fund in its Uganda Orphan Support Mission program, and

The Uganda AIDS Project in its medical and educational work.
