Final Text:

Resolved, That this 71st General Convention request the Convention Secretary to send expressions of deep concern and heartfelt greetings in the name of Jesus Christ to the Archbishop of Rwanda and the people of the country during this time of civil war; and be it further

Resolved, That the Convention express its thanksgiving for and encouragement to the members of this Church who are volunteering, at great risk to themselves, to go to Rwanda for relief or missionary work, thereby serving as ministers of Christ's reconciling love; and be it further

Resolved, That the Convention urge the President of the United States to continue the policy of providing relief to refugees and other victims of the civil war in Rwanda; and be it further

Resolved, That the Convention urge the United Nations to continue to use its offices to negotiate a settlement in Rwanda; and be it further

Resolved, That the Convention urge members of the church to give to the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief, to enter into diocesan companion relationships and to pray for the people of Rwanda.
