Resolved, That the Executive Council encourages President Bush and his administration to pursue with renewed determination the search for a comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council endorses the following call of the recent Anglican Primates meeting in Newcastle, Northern Ireland:

"We call upon the United Nations to assume the administration of the West Bank and Gaza Strip from the State of Israel, and to facilitate humane policies for the people of the Occupied Territories until there is a settlement of the Palestinian/Israeli issue"; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council supports the convening of an international conference under the auspices of the United Nations, and based on all the UN's resolutions relating to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict; and be it further

Resolved, That the Executive Council commends all the peoples of the Middle East to the prayers of this Church for the achievement of reconciliation, with justice and peace; and be it

Resolved, That copies of this resolution be sent to the President, the Secretary of State, the Secretary General of the United Nations, the Anglican Observer to the United Nations Observer, the Secretary General of the Anglican Consultative Council and the President- Bishop of the Church of Jerusalem and the Middle East.
