Resolved, That this Council again encourages, indeed urges, congregations of this Church to become acquainted with the:

"Statement on Peace and Justice" adopted by the Sixth Assembly of the World Council of Churches, 24 July-10 August 1983;

Message of the Christian World Conference on Life and Peace, held in Uppsala, Sweden, 20-23 April 1983;

House of Bishops Pastoral Letters on peace, October 8, 1980, October 9, 1981 and September 1982;

Pastoral letter of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops, "The Challenge of Peace: God's Promise and Our Response," May 3, 1983;

and establish a peacemaking ministry as mandated by the General Convention (1982).
