The Rev. Bonnell Spencer, a member of the Order of the Holy Cross, West Park, NY, died Feb. 22. He was 86.

Fr. Spencer was born in New York, NY. He was educated at Williams College, Oxford University and General Theological Seminary. He was ordained priest in 1937. He professed life vows in 1940 in the Order of the Holy Cross. He was a prior and later headmaster of St. Andrew's School, TN; prior of Mount Calvary Monastery, Santa Barbara, CA and a member of the standing liturgical committee. He also served as assistant superior of Whitby House, Grapevine, TX; instructor at St. Nicholas Theological School, Cape Coast, Ghana, and was the author of many books.
