The Right Reverend Peter Trimble Rowe in Alaska, c.1905. Rowe was the first Bishop of Alaska where he served from 1895-1942. Traveling by dogsled over the entire territory of Alaska during the 47 years of his episcopate, Rowe established many churches, hospitals, and schools.
