Canon Stacy to Direct Seabury House Programs

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Rev. Canon Clarence H. Stacy has been named coordinator and superintendent of the Episcopal Church's national conference center, Seabury House.
Canon Stacy comes to the post after nine years as a senior administrative officer in the diocese of California and secretary to Province VIII. He received his undergraduate degree in 1939 from Colgate University and began a career that eventually placed him in charge of operations of a number of Standard Oil of California subsidiary companies.
During World War II, he was a combined operations combat officer and part of the Army of Occupation of Japan.
Canon Stacy received his theological degree in 1957 from Church Divinity School of the Pacific. He has done graduate work at the General Theological Seminary, the University of California and Golden Gate University. He served in a number of parishes in the diocese before becoming vicar of St. John's, Berkeley, a post he held concurrently with his diocesan duties.
