Proposed Committee Amendment:

Whereas, the national Church's policy of apportionment of Dioceses does not recognize the need for Christians to give freely in grateful response to the Lord and, therefore, is not consistent with Christian stewardship principles now advocated and practiced widely throughout the Church; therefore be it

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the Executive Council, in cooperation with the Standing Commission on Stewardship, be directed to review the present system of funding the Program Budget of the national Church by apportionment and to present to the 68th General Convention a comprehensive plan for diocesan giving to the Ministry and Mission of the Church that is more consistent with the principles of Christian stewardship.

The Committee recommended that the resolution be adopted as amended by the Committee.
