Resolved, Pursuant to Article II, Section 2, and Canon III.11.3 of the Constitution and Canons of the General Convention, the House of Deputies consents to the ordination and consecration of The Very Reverend W. Nicholas Knisely as Bishop Diocesan of the Diocese of Rhode Island.

The Presiding Bishop called for a brief recess for Bishops with jurisdiction to sign consents for Bishops-elect.

The Secretary reported on the consents to the consecrations of the following:

  • The Rev. Jacob W. Owensby, Diocesan, Louisiana
  • The Rev. Canon Susan E. Goff, Suffragan, Virginia
  • The Rev. A. Robert Hirschfeld, Diocesan, New Hampshire
  • The Very Rev. W. Nicholas Knisely, Diocesan, Rhode Island
  • The Rev. Jeff W. Fisher, Suffragan, Texas
  • The Rev. Robert C. Wright, Diocesan, Atlanta
  • The Rev. Douglas J. Fisher, Diocesan, Western Massachusetts

The House welcomed and escorted each Bishop-elect listed above to the floor of the House where they were given seat and voice.

Abstract:   The 77th General Convention consents to the ordination and consecration of the Very Rev. W. Nicholas Knisely.
Notes:  

The House of Bishops announced the election of eight bishops at once on Day 2. Election tallies were not reported. The House of Deputies' consent for each of these bishops was considered separately.
