1. "That was a long walk in here - it took 62 General Conventions." With this good humored remark Mrs. Seaton G. Bailey, of Griffin, Ga., and President of the Triennial meeting of the Women of the Church, acknowledged the standing ovation which greeted her as she entered the House of Deputies shortly after they had voted to allow women seats as deputies. Escorting Mrs. Bailey to the platform, as television cameras record the historic moment, is Dr. Clifford P. Morehouse, retiring president of the House of Deputies and New York publisher.
