5. The Okinawan deputation was in Seattle hoping that Okinawa would become a new missionary district and it did. Along with Okinawa, five new districts were created from the present Missionary District of Central America. The Very Rev. Edmond Browning, second from the right in the back row, was later elected bishop of this new district in the Pacific.
