[Archbishop Donald Coggan...]
Archbishop Donald Coggan of Canterbury (center), spiritual leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion, of which the Episcopal Church in the U.S. is a part, was the principal celebrant in a Eucharist service opening the three-day conference of Trinity Institute at New York's Riverside Church in January. Archbishop Coggan was joined at the altar by several other bishops, including Bishop Bertil Gartner (second right) of the Church of Sweden (Lutheran), and Bishop Harold B. Robinson (at the Archbishop's left) of the Episcopal Diocese of Western New York. Trinity Institute, a national theological institute for Episcopal clergy, is sponsored by Trinity Church in New York City.
