Liberation theologian Gustavo Gutierrez of Lima, Peru, was a featured speaker at a round-table discussion of policies of the
World Bank and the International Monetary Fund sponsored by the Anglican Communion Office at the United Nations. A report
from the conference released in August calls on the two organizations to pursue policies "strongly based in principles of fairness,
