Brennan Appointed World Mission Interpretation and Networks Officer

Mary Frazier Brennan, a marketing and communications professional from Atlanta, Georgia, has been appointed World Mission Interpretation and Networks Officer in the Anglican and Global Relations (AGR) cluster at the Episcopal Church Center in New York City, effective May 1.

"In addition to her training in a wide variety of media, and a significant background as an educator and motivator, Mary brings marvelous enthusiasm and creative energy to our department at an exciting time in the life of our church and the wider Communion," said Canon Margaret S. Larom, director of AGR.

Brennan has worked in both the corporate and non-profit spheres. As senior producer/writer for Turner Broadcasting from 1989 to 1998, she spearheaded internal and external communications projects that included interactive and web-based marketing, as well as national advertising campaigns.

From 1998 to 2001, she taught history, Advanced Placement Government & Politics, and Talented & Gifted seminars for the Fulton County (Georgia) School System. Since 2001, Brennan has been marketing director for the Graphics Lab division of the national architecture firm Perkins+Will, focusing on sales and marketing to science-based corporations and universities.

A longtime communicant of All Saints' Church in Atlanta, Brennan has served in a variety of lay leadership roles, including vestry member, Mission Chair, and United Thank Offering Coordinator. She has been active on the parish Global Mission Committee and is a third year Diocesan Mission Agent candidate through the Global Episcopal Mission (GEM) Network's Education Institute.

"The World Mission Interpretation and Networks Office has been a tremendous resource for my own parish's global mission work during the past three years, so I'm familiar with the important role it plays in education and networking. I am thrilled to put my energies to work for Anglican and Global Relations at this point in my life," Brennan said.

In addition to her church and corporate experience, Brennan has been involved at the community level through the Northwest Georgia Girl Scout Council, Habitat for Humanity, PTA, Galaxy Music Theatre, and the 1996 Olympic Games. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in American Studies from the University of Alabama, with post-graduate studies in Social & Economic History at Exeter College, Oxford, England.

Brennan has one daughter, Kate, 23.
