Brian Sellers-Petersen, director of Episcopal Relief and Development's (ERD) West Coast Operations, and David Baylor, diocesan representative of ERD for the Diocese of Olympia, will lead a workshop at the 2007 Conference of the North American Association for the Diaconate (NAAD) focused on the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

"What Can One Person Do? The Millennium Development Goals and You" will look at ways ERD, the Church and the Anglican Communion are working to eliminate extreme global poverty.

The four-day conference, where Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori will deliver the keynote address, is set for June 21-24 on the campus of Seattle University in Seattle, Washington.

Prior to joining ERD, Sellers-Petersen was an executive with World Vision, Inc., an international Christian humanitarian organization. He also served Bread for the World and the Center for Southern Africa Ministry at All Saints Church, Pasadena, California, and was a missioner of the Anglican Diocese of Port Elizabeth in South Africa.

Baylor was appointed to his position in 2005 to represent ERD for his diocese.

The NAAD is an organization in the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada that promotes renewal of the diaconate, supports deacons and dioceses with deacons, and engages in theological dialogue about diakonia.
