Two staff appointments for global relations announced

The appointment of two new staff members who will focus on the Episcopal Church's international relations was announced on June 15: Lynnaia Rochelle Main has been named as global relations officer and the Rev. Canon Robert D. Edmunds as Middle East partnership officer.
The announcement was made by Episcopal Church Mission Center Co-Directors Antoinette Daniels and the Rev. Margaret Rose via an Office of Public Affairs release.
As the global relations officer, Main's responsibilities will include representing the Episcopal Church on the advisory board of the Anglican Observer at the United Nations and as liaison to various networks of the Anglican Communion, including the Anglican Women's Network and the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women conference, among other initiatives, the release said.
She will work closely with the Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations, will provide Anglican Communion representation on international peace and justice bodies, and will assist church staff and dioceses with international visitors.
Main will begin her new position, based at the Church Center in New York, on June 27.
A resident of New York, Main has international experience working with the Credit Industriel et Commercial in New York; the Politics Programme of the University of Natal in South Africa; Dyneson, Inc., in Paris, France; and the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Paris.
She has held numerous positions at her church, Eglise Française du Saint-Esprit in New York, including senior warden and vestry member, and served as a delegate to the Episcopal Diocese of New York convention. She is a member of the Diocesan Committee on Reparations for Slavery.
As Middle East partnership officer, Edmunds will serve as the liaison and communications/resource link for the Episcopal Church with the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East, the release said. Edmunds also will work closely with the Episcopal Church’s Office of Government Relations on advocacy issues and will collaborate with staff on various initiatives, including the annual Good Friday Offering.
Edmunds most recently served as the chaplain to the Anglican Bishop in Jerusalem and canon pastor for the Cathedral of St. George, also in Jerusalem. Previously, he served congregations in the dioceses of Massachusetts and Western New York.
Edmunds will begin his new quarter-time position on Sept. 1.
