GUAYAQUIL, Ecuador -- Province IX of the Episcopal Church -- which includes the dioceses of Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador Central, Ecuador Litoral, Honduras, Puerto Rico and Venezuela -- is holding its 17th Synod July 12-14 in the Diocese of Costal Ecuador in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

NATION -- The Save Darfur Coalition is calling on faith communities across America to join together in a weekend of prayer and reflection for the people of Darfur. In conjunction with legislation to be introduced in the House and Senate in the next few days, the coalition is encouraging faith communities' participation in this National Weekend of Prayer and Reflection on July 15-17. WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Washington National Cathedral's Summer Music Festival will feature the Cathedral Men's voices in concert at 7:30pm. It will include Tallis's Lamentations and Poulenc's Four prayers of St. Francis of Assisi. This event is held at the Cathedral and is free and open to the public.

Coming up Sunday, July 17, 2005...

NEW YORK -- St. Bartholomew's Church Summer Festival of Sacred Music will continue at 11:00am with the Chapel Choir and Brass Ensemble of St. Peter's School, York, England. The choir will sing works of Alan Gray, professor of music at the Royal College of Music and an alumnus of St. Peter's School, and Standford's Beati quorum via, a piece that is dedicated to Gray. Andrew Wright will conduct.

PORTLAND, Oregon -- Province VIII of the Episcopal Church will hold its Convocation and 69th Synod July 17-21 at Reed College.

A variety of workshops, program ministry network meetings and other programs will take place during the Convocation. The Synod meeting will feature a panel of bishops of the Province who will discuss the Windsor Report, the subsequent actions of the Primates of the Anglican Communion, and the House of Bishops, as well as other meetings and programs. INDIANAPOLIS -- Christ Church Cathedral's Choir of Men and Boys will sing Choral Evensong, followed by a concert at 4:30pm on Sunday, July 17. The concert features anthems and other music they will sing on their European Tour to England and Italy this summer. While in England the choir will sing services as the resident choir at Chester Cathedral, St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, Chichester Cathedral, and St. Paul's Cathedral, London. Italian stops include masses sung at Milan Cathedral, one of the largest cathedrals in the world, as well as a concert in the Romanesque church of San Georgio in the town of Varenna on Lake Como. TOPEKA, Kansas -- A day-long workshop for people involved in all forms of communication in the church is being held at Grace Cathedral in Topeka, Kansas, on Saturday, July 23. Breakout sessions will focus on printed publications, web site design, advertising and communicating in times of crisis. Presenters will be Jim DeLa, director of communications for the Diocese of Southwest Florida and Melodie Woerman, director of communications for the Diocese of Kansas. RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, California -- Former British MP and war correspondent Jonathan Aitken--author of the soon-to-be-published Charles W.
