Integrity announces staff transition

Integrity USA has appointed Harry Knox to serve as its interim executive director following the resignation in August of Max Niedzwiecki as executive director.
Niedzwiecki, who has served Integrity USA since August 2010, plans to return to his private consulting practice where he will focus on organizational development and justice issues for nonprofit and faith-based organizations, according to a press release.
Integrity USA advocates for the full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the life of the Episcopal Church.
Niedzwiecki oversaw Integrity USA's launch of its "Believe Out Loud" initiative in the Episcopal Church, a project mobilizing clergy and lay leaders, LGBT activists, and straight allies to work together to become more welcoming and inclusive, the release said.
"In addition, Max pursued and secured grants for local Integrity chapters to support their advocacy work, continued to direct our longtime support of Integrity Uganda and the work Bishop Christopher Senyonjo while positioning Integrity USA as an opinion leader on immigration reform," Integrity USA President Caroline Hall said in the release.
Niedzwiecki said that he plans to stay involved with Integrity in the future as the organization continues to mobilize toward the 77th meeting of General Convention in 2012.
Knox will assume his interim duties on Sept. 15, the release said.
Knox has shepherded organizations at the local, state and national levels through times of significant change, according to the release, and has worked with Equality Florida, Georgia Equality and Freedom to Marry. He also founded the Religion and Faith program for the Human Rights Campaign.
