LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Solo Journeys Conference -- Solo Journeys, an Episcopal Church ministry to the divorced, widowed and never married, will hold its first conference in the Diocese of Los Angeles on November 12, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Cathedral Center.

Keynote speaker will be the Rev. Zelda Kennedy, associate for pastoral care at All Saints, Pasadena. She will speak on "The Woman (and Man) at the Well with Jesus." Other presentations will include: Forgiveness and Moving On by Kennedy; Finances for the Solo Person (budgeting, saving, understanding a credit report, and more) by Urla Abrigo, executive director of the Episcopal Community Federal Credit Union; and Pros and Cons and Cautions of Internet Dating by psychiatrist Patricia Merriman, Ph.D. Merriman and Kennedy will jointly give presentations on Sex, the Church and Morality and Dealing with the Holidays as a Solo Person. PORTLAND, OREGON: Via Media series continues -- The Via Media DVD and small-group exploration of Anglican faith continues at Saints Peter and Paul Episcopal Church, located at 8147 SE Pine St., on November 13. Via Media has been invaluable both in presenting life and faith in positive, dynamic ways to potential newcomers, and in creating a safe and warm space for present members to discuss issues close to their hearts. WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: Season of Creation -- The Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew will continue its Season of Creation series on November 13 under the theme Stewardship - "Ourselves, Our Souls and Bodies: Stewards of Creation." The Season of Creation, series features a creative blend of contemporary liturgy and readings, together with music, dance and other art forms celebrating the majesty of God's creation and humanity's destiny within it, experiencing our kinship with all creatures, and committing ourselves to becoming instruments for the healing of Planet Earth. JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA: Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former archbishop of Canterbury Dr. George Carey to speak at St. John's Cathedral -- Archbishop Desmond Tutu will speak at the 10:30 a.m. Holy Eucharist and former Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. George Carey will speak at 5 p.m. for the St. Andrews Choral Evensong, Scottish Music Festival on November 13 at St. John's Cathedral.

Tutu is the former Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town, South Africa, and a Nobel Peace Prize winner, author, civil rights activist and theologian.

Carey served as the 103rd Archbishop of Canterbury. He has held various leadership roles throughout the Anglican community and has authored 14 books on theology and faith based issues.

WASHINGTON, DC: Washington National Cathedral set to host two-night revival -- Devotions, gospel music, scripture readings, prayers, and preaching by Dr. James A. Forbes, one of the most inspiring preachers in the country, are just some of what's in store for participants of "Word to the City," a two-night revival November 15 and 16 at 7 p.m. at Washington National Cathedral.

Forbes, senior minister of New York City's Riverside Church, will bring a message of spiritual renewal to attendees through his sermons titled "God's Response to Gideon's Question," and "God's Concern for Our Satisfaction."

CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS: Faith and the second Millennium Development Goal/Annual Jonathan Daniels Memorial Lecture -- Boston Theological Institute, Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) and Bread for the World Institute have collaborated to present a series of lectures on Faith and the Millennium Development Goals. Richard Parker, Shorenstein Center, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, continues the series on November 17, 7-8:30 p.m. at Sherrill Hall, Episcopal Divinity School, with "Ensure Environmental Sustainability" and will combine the remembrance of slain Episcopal seminarian and civil rights activist Jonathan Daniels. This fall marks the 40th anniversary of his death.

Other lectures include: "Develop a Global Partnership for Development" with Raymond Helmick on Decemeber 1; "Becoming Ambassadors of Hope" with Robert Seiple on December 8; and "What Can a Person of Faith Do?" with Gloria White Hammond on December 15.
