WASHINGTON, DC: Washington National Cathedral revival concludes -- Devotions, gospel music, scripture readings, prayers, and preaching by Dr. James A. Forbes, one of the most inspiring preachers in the country, are just some of what's in store for participants of "Word to the City." The final evening of this two-night revival is November 16 at 7 p.m. at Washington National Cathedral.

Forbes, senior minister of New York City's Riverside Church, will bring a message of spiritual renewal to attendees through his sermon titled "God's Concern for Our Satisfaction."

NEW YORK CITY: Narnia: A multimedia festival -- Trinity Church/St. Paul's Chapel will present a multimedia festival exploring C.S. Lewis and "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," now through December 13, 6:30 p.m. This weekly workshop and online telecast with the Rev. Dr. Clair McPherson will feature e-courses and the premiere screening of a new Hallmark movie on Lewis.

WASHINGTON, DC: Religion & Ecology Unite -- The second of three dinner lectures that will explore religion and ecology will be held November 16 at 6 p.m. with dinner in the Cathedral College refectory followed by the lecture and panel discussion, "Outdoor Sanctuaries," 7-8:30 p.m. in the library. CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS: Faith and the second Millennium Development Goal/Annual Jonathan Daniels Memorial Lecture -- Boston Theological Institute, Episcopal Divinity School (EDS) and Bread for the World Institute have collaborated to present a series of lectures on Faith and the Millennium Development Goals. Richard Parker, Shorenstein Center, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, continues the series on November 17, 7-8:30 p.m. at Sherrill Hall, Episcopal Divinity School, with "Ensure Environmental Sustainability" and will combine it with a remembrance of slain Episcopal seminarian and civil rights activist Jonathan Daniels. This year marks the 40th anniversary of his death.

Other lectures include: "Develop a Global Partnership for Development" with Raymond Helmick on December 1; "Becoming Ambassadors of Hope" with Robert Seiple on December 8; and "What Can a Person of Faith Do?" with Gloria White Hammond on December 15.

WASHINGTON, DC: State Day honors Pennsylvania -- The state of Alabama will be honored at the November 13, 11 a.m. service at Washington National Cathedral. As part of its national ministry, Washington National Cathedral has for many years individually honored each state in the union. During worship services, the government and people of that state are prayed for.

Invited guests include: Bishop Robert Deane Rowley, Jr. of Northwestern Pennsylvania; Bishop Charles E. Bennison, Jr. of Pennsylvania; Governor Edward Rendell, Senators Spector, Santorum and Pennsylvania members of Congress; members of the Pennsylvania State Society; and the Inspiration, a University of Pennsylvania a cappella group.

Author, poet and parish priest, the Rev. John P. McNamee of St. Malachy Church, Philadelphia will preach at the 11 a.m. service and the Rev. William C. Gipson, Chaplain of the University of Pennsylvania, will preach at the 4 p.m. evensong

PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: All Saints Church to inaugurate Spanish and English bilingual service -- The Rt. Rev. Sergio Carranza, former Episcopal Bishop of Mexico, will lead the inaugural Spanish and English bilingual worship service at All Saints Church, Pasadena, on November 20 at 1 p.m. when All Saints begins weekly bilingual services. Carranza is currently one of four bishops heading the four-county Los Angeles Diocese of the Episcopal Church.

All Saints is the largest Episcopal Church in Southern California and presently has a multicultural congregation of more than 4000 members, but is reaching out into the community to better serve the growing Latino population in Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley.

The Rev. Abel Lopez, of All Saints, is coordinating the new worship service.

-- New York artist, author and Episcopalian Steve Ross will visit the Chicago area for two free public events to speak about his book "Marked." SEATTLE, WASHINGTON: St. Mark's Cathedral to present annual Advent Carol service -- St. Mark's Cathedral and Compline Choirs under the direction of organist/choirmaster J. Melvin Butler and Canon Precentor Emeritus Peter R. Hallock will present the annual Advent Procession service of lessons and carols on November 27 at 7 p.m.

Based on the "O Antiphons" this service includes original music by Dr. Hallock as well as chant, carols, and anthems for the Advent season.
