ENS Set for Holiday Hiatus December 16; Calendar Highlights Year-end Events

Episcopal News Service. December 14, 2005 [121405-1-A]

The Episcopal News Service Daybook will begin its annual hiatus at the close of business on December 16. The staff will resume its regular work on January 3. Breaking news will be posted to email subscribers and uploaded to the ENS website as needed.

We take this time to remind all of our ENS subscribers and readers that we offer a daily Daybook feature sequence that normally runs as follows:

* Monday - Mission: A look at unique forms of outreach and ministry

* Tuesday - To Note and To Read: A round-up of brief items of interest plus featured publications from Episcopal Books and Resources

* Wednesday - Weeks Ahead: A preview of notable events, especially for the coming Sunday

* Thursday - Newsmakers: A collection of news and interviews with newsmakers

* Friday - Forum: A presentation of voices on timely topics in the news

The goal of these stories is to provide media representatives with engaging story leads while also offering information of practical use within the Episcopal Church and the wider Anglican Communion.

In the coming year, we plan to give the Daybook stories more visibility on the ENS web page.

When ENS returns after the holidays, we will also resume our Diocesan Digest every Thursday and our International Briefing every Friday.

As always, we welcome your comments, suggestions, and requests for news coverage. The easiest way to contract us is through news@episcopalchurch.org

Please also assist us by encouraging your friends and colleagues to subscribe to ENS. They can do so by visiting http://episcopalchurch.org/3577_11458_ENG_HTM.htm or sending an email to news@episcopalchurch.org with "subscribe" in the subject line. ENS releases will then be sent regularly under the sender identification: "news@episcopalchurch.org"

The entire staff at ENS wishes you a blessed Advent and Christmastide.
