NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Rev. John F. Stevens, former secretary 6f the Executive Council and administrative officer on the staff, has been appointed interim executive director of the Joint Strategy and Action Committee ( JSAC), an ecumenical organization composed of national mission agencies of nine churches, including the Episcopal Church. , He will serve part-time from March 15 through September 15, replacing Norman E. Dewire who is leaving the post after six years in order to become general secretary of the General Council on Ministries of the United Methodist Church, Dayton, Ohio.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -- The 17th annual conference of the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer (AFP) will be held at the Church of the Ascension and Haddon Hall Hotel Atlantic City, April 30 - May 2. The theme will be " Prayer -- the Way to God -- and Back." Speakers will include Bishop Albert W. Van Duzer of New Jersey, Bishop David K. Leighton of Maryland, and Bishop James W. Montgomery of Chicago. The closing Eucharist on May 2, concelebrated by the three bishops, will be preceded by a procession of witness from Haddon Hall Hotel along the boardwalk to the Church of the Ascension. About 1,000 registrants are expected. Mrs. Helen Shoemaker is the executive director of the AFP.

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The NBC-TV network will repeat a religious special, " The Seeds," on Sunday afternoon, June 15. The documentary, first shown on Dec. 1, 1974, presents the first 500 years of Christianity, narrated by Hugh Downs and filmed in Europe and North Africa. The program was produced in association with the Broadcasting and Film Commission of the National Council of Churches. Check local listings for air time.

NEW YORK, N. Y. -- The ABC-TV network will present on its "Directions " program (Sundays, 1- 1:30 p.m., EDT) a film documentary on June 2, observing a week-long seminar for theology students on aspects of human sexuality, offered at the University of Minnesota Medical School in association with various local church groups and seminaries. Check local TV listings or local ABC-TV affiliate for exact time in your area.

NEW YORK, N. Y. -- Viewers are invited to be on the look-out for a religious special, "A Conversation with Dr. Margaret Mead" on the NBC-TV network. NBC news correspondent Edwin Newman conducts a full hour interview with this important figure in anthropological and sociological thought. Dr. Mead is an Episcopalian. Watch local listings for air time and date, which the network has not announced at this time.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Rev. Jane Hwang, a priest from the Anglican Diocese of Hong Kong and Macao, will be the guest of Bishop John H. Burt of Ohio in May and will celebrate the Holy Eucharist with him in Trinity Cathedral, Cleveland, during the annual convention of the Episcopal Churchwomen on May 14. Hong Kong is presently the only province of the Anglican Communion which has canonically authorized the ordination of women to the priesthood. All provinces of the Anglican Communion accept reciprocally the ordination authority of each other and thus the free interchange of ordained ministers, Bishop Burt said. Miss Hwang is rector of one of the largest parishes in Hong Kong.
