CINCINNATI -- A book outlining some of the issues and opportunities facing the Episcopal Church as it meets in General Convention in Denver this fall has just been published by Forward Movement Publications.

Denver Crossroads, a 96-page book, "was written so that concerned Episcopalians might be better prepared to share vicariously and pray knowledgeable with those who will represent them at Denver," the well-known authors say.

Mrs. Marion Kelleran, Alexandria, Va., and the Rt. Rev. John M Krumm, Bishop of the Diocese of Southern Ohio, have collaborated on this 10-chapter book which introduces the way Convention functions in the life of the Church and which also reviews the key issues concerning mission and ministry, unity and authority, that have to be faced in Denver.

Some topics reviewed in the book are: Venture in Mission, Anglican Communion concerns, "smoldering antagonism" resulting from recent Church controversies, coalitions engaged in ministry, family ministries, human sexuality and specifically homosexuality, ecumenism, and various programs of groups with special interests.

The Rt. Rev. John M. Allin, Presiding Bishop of the three million member Church, and President of the House of Bishops, and Dr. Charles R. Lawrence, President of the House of Deputies of the Convention, have written in the forward that the book "should be useful for Bishops and Deputies attending and participating in the legislative process." They also commend the book to visitors and Episcopalians throughout the Church.

The book has a chapter on the Triennial Meeting of Episcopal Church Women which will be held Sept. 8-18 side by side with the Convention.

Denver Crossroads may be ordered from Forward Movement Publications, 412 Sycamore St., Cincinnati, Ohio 45202, at a rate of $1. 25 for single copies and $1.00 each for 10 or more (plus fifty cents or 10 percent -- whichever is larger -- for postage and handling).
