NEW YORK (DPS, March 11)

The Loans Committee of the Episcopal Church's Executive Council approved two loans at a recent meeting here -- a loan of $35,000 at 8 percent interest to St. Martin's-in-the-Field in Colorado and a loan of $20,000 at 4 percent interest per year to San Esteban Colegio in the Dominican Republic for 10 years. The loan to the Colorado church, to be drawn from the General Loan Fund, is conditioned on the obtaining of an additional $15,000 from local sources. The Dominican Republic loan is to be drawn from the United Thank Offering Loan Fund. The action of the committee in October 1981 regarding a loan of $15,000 to the Church of the Holy Cross in the Diocese of Northwest Texas was rescinded and the loan was returned. A loan of $20,000 to St. Ann's Church in the Diocese of Georgia in April 1981 was extended to March 31, 1982.

KIVALINA, Alaska (DPS, March 11)

The Rev. Milton Swan, the first Eskimo priest in the Anglican Communion, died here in February at the age of 77. His service as lay reader, deacon and priest spanned more than 50 years. Bishop William J. Gordon, Jr., then Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Alaska, ordained him priest here in 1964. He is survived by his wife Martha and three children.

NEW YORK (DPS, March 11)

T & T Clark of Edinburgh, Scotland has announced that, effective Jan. 1, 1982, The Seabury Press, an official publishing house of the Episcopal Church here, will act as their sole distributor in the United States and Canada. Publishers since 1823 of books on theology and philosophy, T & T Clark is now part of the Reader's Digest international group. The Seabury Press is preparing a catalogue of T & T Clark publications which will be available for sale in the United States and Canada and stocked by the Seabury Service Center at Somers, Conn.

LEXINGTON, Va. (DPS, March 11)

Mrs. Marian Craighill, a retired missionary, and widow of Bishop Lloyd R. Craighill, missionary Bishop of Anking, died here in February at the age of 91. The Craighills were married in 1918, three years after the future bishop was appointed as a missionary to China. He became Bishop of Anking in 1940 where he served until his resignation in 1949. He retired in 1956 and died in 1971. Mrs. Craighill, who made her home here, is survived by three children: Lloyd, Jr., Peyton, and Mary Katherine Roberts, and several grandchildren.

NEW YORK (DPS, March 11)

The Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief has made an emergency grant of $10,000 to the Diocese of Southern Philippines to provide food, shelter and clothing for victims of severe flooding in Davao del Norte, Bukidnon and parts of Cotabato. The board responded to a request of that diocese's bishop, the Rt. Rev. Constancio B. Manguramas.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (DPS, March 11)

Tyson House, the Episcopal Center at the University of Tennessee here -- which is located six blocks from the site of the 1982 World's Fair -- is making available two suites of rooms for youth, college and parish groups of the Episcopal and Lutheran Churches who plan to visit the fair. Each suite accommodates 12 persons and the cost is a fixed price of $160 per suite per night, including breakfast. Individual rooms may not be reserved except for the full price of the suite. A lounge and limited conference space are available for the groups who use the suites. The fair will be open May 1 to Oct. 31.
