Second Global Mission Institute to be Held in April

(ENS) The second annual Global Episcopal Mission (GEM) Education Institute will be held on April 25-27 at Seven Oaks Hotel and Conference Center near San Antonio, Texas. The institute will feature Bishop Emmanuel Kolini of Zaire and Bishop David Birney, former bishop of Idaho and personnel officer at the World Mission Unit at the Episcopal Church Center in New York. Both bishops will talk about ways to increase partnership among Episcopal dioceses and other jurisdictions of the Anglican Communion. GEM is a newly constituted network of dioceses seeking to help the church to fulfill its mission responsibilities. At the present there are 35 dioceses which are members. The minimum fee required is $500 per diocese. Registration and meals for the institute is $110 until April 11, $135 thereafter.
