Resolved, That the 67th General Convention of the Episcopal Church recognizes the injustice practiced by many (parish) calling committees in deliberately limiting their search to younger (below age 45) Priests; and be it further

Resolved, That this Convention go on record as being opposed to such discrimination as contrary to the Church's teaching concerning human dignity and also as inimical to the best interests of the Church in offering its constituents the benefit of wisdom and knowledge matured by experience in the Priestly and Pastoral Ministry.

Whereas, the Episcopal Church has consistently spoken out against discrimination and prejudice in all forms; therefore be it

Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the 67th General Convention of the Episcopal Church recognizes the injustice practiced by many (parish) calling committees in deliberately limiting their search to younger (below age 45) Priests; and be it further

Resolved, That this Convention go on record as being opposed to such discrimination as contrary to the Church's teaching concerning human dignity and also as inimical to the best interests of the Church in offering its constituents the benefit of wisdom and knowledge matured by experience in the Priestly and Pastoral Ministry.

Seconded by the Bishop of East Carolina.
