Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 69th General Convention approve the request for a three year extension of the trial period in the formation of a new autonomous province "The Episcopal Church in the Andes/ARENSA."
Proposed Committee Substitute:
Whereas,the 68th General Convention authorized a three-year trial period leading toward the formation of the Anglican Province of the Andes, which will include the Dioceses of Ecuador, Litoral, Colombia, and Venezuela; and
Whereas,the Diocese of Litoral was initiated at the 68th General Convention, and has just recently elected and consecrated its Bishop; and
Whereas, this Diocese has been in a transition period of preparation since the 1985 General Convention; therefore be it
Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That at the request of the Dioceses of Ecuador and Litoral, the 69th General Convention approve an additional three-year trial period in their effort to form a new autonomous Province of the Andes.
