Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the Council for the Development of Ministry be asked to study the Office of the Suffragan Bishop for the Armed Forces during the next triennium, giving particular attention to the following questions:

  1. How do other major denominations with ten or more chaplains serving in the U.S. Armed Forces provide said chaplains with pastoral oversight?
  2. How do other Provinces of the Anglican Communion which have ordained chaplains serving in the Armed Forces provide said chaplains with pastoral oversight?; and be it further

Resolved, That the Council for the Development of Ministry report to the 70th General Convention the results of this study and any recommendations the Council chooses to offer.

The Committee on Ministry moved that the Resolution be moved without amendment.

The Bishop of San Diego moved to table the Resolution.
