Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That sufficient funds be restored to the National Church budget in this triennium to maintain a vigorous and effective National Church Office of World Mission that can coordinate and support independent mission efforts within our Church as well as maintain our historic mission and ministry with our partner churches throughout the Anglican Communion.

Proposed Committee Substitute:

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 71st General Convention declares that global missionary engagement is central to the identity and calling of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Episcopal Church; and be it further

Resolved, That this General Convention directs the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society through its office of Anglican and Global Relations to continue to: invite applications for long term appointed missionary service, screen candidates, provide orientation, and appoint Episcopalians to serve in cross-cultural, international mission; and be it further

Resolved, That the General Convention directs the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society to cooperate with Episcopal voluntary missionary societies by sharing information about mission resources and opportunities; and be it further

Resolved, That the General Convention appropriate annually in the 1995-97 triennium $750,000 if funds are available for the support of long-term appointed missionaries; and be it further

Resolved, That, in order to strengthen this missionary outreach of the Church, one full-time executive staff position be restored to the Anglican and Global Relations office of the Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society, and that $65,000 be appropriated; subject to funding in the budget.
