Resolved, That the 72nd General Convention extend its warm and affectionate greeting to the Most Reverend George Carey, Archbishop of Canterbury. As the symbol of unity in Christ for the worldwide Anglican Communion, we are honored by his presence as the preacher at our convention Eucharist on Saturday, July 19, 1997, as we recognize his broad and supportive ministry to all of the people of our world within hearing of the Gospel. We pray God's continued blessing on his ministry.
