Resolved, That this 72nd General Convention reaffirm the Episcopal Church's commitment to interfaith cooperation and dialogue with our sisters and brothers of the Jewish faith; and be it further

Resolved, That we commend the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for the leadership it has given in this area and more particularly its 1994 Declaration to the Jewish Community ; and be it further

Resolved, That we acknowledge, with regret, our acts of moral blindness and outright prejudice, throughout history and today, that have contributed to the abuse and mistreatment of Jews.

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the Episcopal Church confess its participation in the collective guilt of all Christians for sins of omission and commission against the Jewish people, as well as specific actions of members of our own church, not only in connection with the genocide visited upon them under Hitler, but in all acts of prejudice, cruelty, and injustice in the last two millennia; and be it further

Resolved, That we commend the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for its action in adopting The Declaration of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to the Jewish Community; and be it further

Resolved, That this action of the Episcopal Church be communicated by the Presiding Bishop to appropriate representatives of the various movements of the Jewish faith.

Proposed Committee Substitute:

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, that this 72nd General Convention reaffirm the Episcopal Church's commitment to interfaith cooperation and dialogue with our sisters and brothers of the Jewish faith; and be it further,

Deputy Stanley of Connecticut moved an amendment to the committee substitute.

In the substitute, final Resolved clause, line 1, after "regret" delete "those" and add "our"; after "prejudice" add "throughout history and today".
