The House of Bishops Committee on Ecumenical Relations presented its Report #11 on Resolution A089 ("Open Communion") and moved adoption with amendment.

Original Text of Resolution:

(A089)

Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the 74th General Convention of the Episcopal Church establish a task force to study the matter of the increasingly common practice of open communion to report back to the 2006 General Convention; and be it further

Resolved, That this task force shall be comprised of Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and lay persons with representation from the Standing Commission on Ecumenical Relations, the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music, and the Standing Commission on Constitution and Canons, as proposed by the Chairs of those Commissions.

The Bishop of South Carolina moved to refer the resolution to the House of Bishops Committee on Theology.
