Resolved, That the 74th General Convention direct the Office of Government Relations to work to encourage the Congress of the United States to hold public hearings examining the relationship between the extension of police powers granted under HR 3162 RDS, the "Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001" (USA PATRIOT Act), and the potential curtailing of civil liberties granted by the Constitution of the United States of America; and be it further

Resolved, That the 74th General Convention go on record as opposing the use of Federal legislation passed since 9/11 violating fundamental civil rights guaranteed by the United States Constitution.
