Resolved, That the Secretary of the General Convention send a copy of this resolution to the Most Rev. Rowan Williams, Archbishop of Canterbury and Primate of All England, in token of the esteem of the General Convention for his office and our affection for his person, as we look forward to participation with him in the councils of the world-wide Anglican Communion.

Whereas, it has pleased Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II to seek the advice of the Rt. Hon. Tony Blair, Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury, in the selection of the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury; and

Whereas, the Prime Minister advised Her Majesty to grant her license to the Dean and Chapter of Canterbury to elect the Most Rev. Rowan Williams, Bishop of Monmouth and Archbishop of the Church in Wales, to the See of Canterbury; and

Whereas, the Most Rev. Rowan Williams, having been installed in the Primatial Chair of St. Augustine of Canterbury as the Primate of All England, is the symbolic Head of the Anglican Communion; now therefore be it

Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 74th General Convention send its respectful and affectionate greetings to His Grace, the Archbishop of Canterbury, to whom we say in his native tongue "Cofion gynnes (Warm greetings), Pob hwyl (Good luck), and Yr Bendith Duw Hollalliog, yr Tad, yr Mab, yr Usprid Glad, a gydach ti, yn wastad (God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, go with you always)"; and be it further
