Original Text of Resolution
(A044)
Resolved, the House of Bishops concurring, That the 77th General Convention direct the Standing Commission on Lifelong Christian Formation and Education and the Standing Commission on Ministry Development to review the requirement for Confirmation in the Title III Canons on the ordination of deacons and priests and consider any revisions to the canons needed to conform them to the baptismal theology of the Book of Common Prayer; and be it further
Resolved, That this review include consultation with other provinces of the Anglican Communion and full communion partners such as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Moravian Church; and be it further
Resolved, That the standing commissions report their findings to the 78th General Convention in 2015.
Deputy Meyers of Chicago moved to refer the resolution to the Standing Commission on Ministry Development.
