The House of Bishops Committee on Stewardship and Development presented its Report #11 on Resolution D025 (Establishing a Churchwide Development Office) and moved adoption with amendment.

Original Text of Resolution

(D025)

Resolved, the House of Deputies concurring, That the 77th General Convention authorize establishing a Churchwide Development Office for the purpose of securing major gifts and other resources to support the ongoing mission and ministries of The Episcopal Church at all levels; and be it further

Resolved, That the services of this office will be dedicated to support fundraising efforts in dioceses, parishes and the Church at large, as directed by the Offices of the Presiding Bishop and the Chief Operating Officer, in consultation with the Church’s Executive Council; and be it further

Resolved, That the 77th General Convention request that the Joint Standing Committee on Program, Budget and Finance consider a budget allocation of $3,764,654 for the implementation of this Resolution during the 2013-2015 triennium.

Resolved, That the services of this office will be dedicated to support fundraising efforts in dioceses, parishes and the Church at large, as directed by the Offices of the Presiding Bishop and the Chief Operating Officer, in consultation with the Church’s Executive Council; and be it further

Resolved, that to the extent the funds for this office come from unrestricted reserves (prior year operating surpluses), that such amounts will be repaid to such unrestricted reserves from funds raised by the development office within the twelve year period following this Convention; and be it further

Resolved, That the 77th General Convention request that the Joint Standing Committee on Program, Budget and Finance consider a budget allocation of $3,764,654 for the implementation of this Resolution during the 2013-2015 triennium.
