Resolved, That the House of Deputies of the 78th General Convention of The Episcopal Church extend its deepest gratitude and thanks for the ministry of The Most Reverend Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori and express its abiding affection for her faithful service as the 26th Presiding Bishop.

Original Text of Resolution:

(A198)

Whereas, She has served as chief pastor and primate to The Episcopal Church’s members in 17 countries, 109 diocese and 3 regional areas; and

Whereas, She was the first woman primate in the Anglican Communion; and

Whereas, She has been charged to speak God’s word to the Church and the World and has sought to do so with courage and humility; and

Whereas, She has been pastorally present in times of natural disasters, human suffering and other crises; and

Whereas, She provided effective leadership to all dioceses experiencing severance from The Episcopal Church and showed compassion in all cases; and

Whereas, She has exercised her authority with dignity and reserve to make The Episcopal Church a welcoming place for all. Be it so resolved.

Resolved, That the House of Deputies of the 78th General Convention of The Episcopal Church extend its deepest gratitude and thanks for the ministry of The Most Reverend Dr. Katharine Jefferts Schori and express its abiding affection for her faithful service as the 26th Presiding Bishop.
