Resolved, That the 74th General Convention enthusiastically support and affirm the call of the Anglican Consultative Council meetings XI (Scotland 1999) and XII (Hong Kong 2002), and of the Joint Standing Committee of the Primates and Anglican Consultative Council, that there be an Anglican congress of lay people, priests, deacons, and bishops from every diocese in the Anglican Communion described as the "Anglican Gathering" and tentatively planned to be held in South Africa in mid-2008; and be it further

Resolved, That every diocese of The Episcopal Church begin to plan and make financial provisions for representation at the 2008 Anglican Gathering; and be it further

Resolved, That the Standing Commission on World Mission work cooperatively with the Executive Council and the Joint Standing Committee on Program, Budget and Finance to prepare during the next triennium a financial provision for the 75th General Convention to support the 2008 Anglican Gathering; and be it further

Resolved, That the department of Anglican and Global Relations at the Episcopal Church Center, working in consultation with the Standing Commission on World Mission, be directed to assist the wider Anglican Communion in every way possible in the development of the 2008 Anglican Gathering; and be it further

Resolved, That the Presiding Bishop communicate The Episcopal Church's enthusiastic support for the 2008 Anglican Gathering to the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Primates of the Anglican Communion; and be it further

Resolved, That the Secretary of the General Convention, along with The Episcopal Church's members of the Anglican Consultative Council, communicate the substance of this resolution to the General Secretary of the Anglican Communion, the Anglican Consultative Council, and the staff and leadership of the Inter-Anglican Standing Commission on Mission and Evangelism.
