Resolved, That this Executive Council thanks God for the safe release from custody of Jean Waddell and John and Audrey Coleman; and be it further Resolved, That this Executive Council commend the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend and Right Honorable Robert Runcie, on his initiatives to secure the release of these Anglican missionaries formerly detained in Iran; and be it further Resolved, That this Executive Council thanks God for the safe release of the 53 American hostages; and be it further Resolved, That this Executive Council extend its love, concern and prayers for the Anglican Church of Iran during this time of its persecution, and for its Bishop, priests, and lay people, whether they be in exile, in prison or attempting to maintain the faith in this time of troubles; and be it further Resolved, That the Secretary of this Council communicate this resolution to the Archbishop of Canterbury and to Bishop H. B. Dehqani-Tafti. |
