Resolves of the Executive Council

Resolved, That the Executive Council meeting in Tampa, Florida, February 9 -12, 2004, direct A&F to identify program funding for the triennium for the Native American Congregational Development Officer to use, in consultation with ECIM, to implement the “Decade of Remembrance, Recognition, and Reconciliation, 1997…2007,” designated by the 72nd General Convention and reaffirmed by the 74th General Convention, which is directed toward ensuring that Native Americans become equal partners in the Church’s mission and ministry and report back to the June meeting of Executive Council any recommended budget adjustments; and be it further

Resolved, That other programs at the Church Center be administered to reflect General Convention’s commitment to projects which seek to welcome Native people into congregational life and to provide leadership training and evangelism programs for Native youth and young adults and evangelism programs for unchurched urban and rural Native peoples, and include in their reports to Executive Council the steps taken to implement this resolution.
