Whereas, The Lambeth Conference of 1978 called on member churches of the Anglican Communion to review their commitment to ecumenical structure at various levels with a view to strengthening the advance by all churches to the goal of visible unity; and

Whereas, The Lambeth Conference also acknowledged the pressing need stated by the Nairobi Assembly of the World Council of Churches that we should develop more truly sustained and sustaining relationships among the churches as we look toward the time when we can enjoy full conciliar fellowship; and

Whereas, The Episcopal Church has completed a triennium ecumenical study including a review of ecumenical structures and their functioning; therefore be it

Resolved, That the Executive Council transmit the Ecumenical Report of Executive Council to the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches and request that appropriate bodies of WCC and NCC study and respond to the review and suggestions on the World and National Councils of Churches.
