Whereas, The Executive Council referred to the Ad Hoc Committee the second resolve of the response to Resolution #12 of the 53rd Synod, Province of the Pacific; be it further Resolved, That the Executive Director of the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief, in consultation with appropriate Church Coalitions, convene an Ad Hoc Committee for the purpose of unifying and coordinating initiatives within the Episcopal Church on Immigration and Refugee Concerns, the Committee to report back to the Board of the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief for such action as deemed necessary; and that such expense for meetings are reflected from a special emergency grant from the Presiding Bishop's Fund; and be it further Resolved, That the Executive Director of the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief convey to Church World Service this Church's support of Ecumenical Community Centers serving Refugees and Immigrants, urging that Federal Funds designated for Refugee support programs and made available to Church World Service be utilized to insure the continuing outreach and service of such centers. |
