[Whereas,] Executive Council has received reports alleging misappropriation of funds by bishops in the Diocese of Western Mexico and the Diocese of Northern Mexico, two dioceses of the Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico, an autonomous province of the Anglican Communion. Based on these reports and a request from the Episcopal College of the Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico, we express our sadness, offer our prayers; therefore be it

Resolved, [sic]

1. Express sincere sympathy with the faithful of the Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico and its individual dioceses who must absorb these alarming reports in their common life and work; and

2. Affirm the Episcopal College and the Executive Council of the Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico as they seek to remedy the situation; and

3. Affirm the Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico and its dioceses as they seek to conduct and cooperate with appropriate investigations of the alleged misappropriations and as they seek to provide remedies for any weakness found in the financial structures of their dioceses; and

4. Support ongoing review of our own Church’s procedures to ensure sound fiscal dealings with all dioceses and institutions, domestic and foreign, with which we have covenant and other financial relationships.
