Resolves of the Executive Council

Resolved, That the Executive Council, meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, 7-10 October 2005, expresses its gratitude to Mr. Dennis Sullivan, President of the Church Pension Group, and Ms. Linda Curtiss, Executive Vice President of the Church Pension Group, for the visionary and caring leadership with which they have pursued the goal of bringing greater equity to the pensions for clergy and lay employees who serve the church in its dioceses in Latin America and the Caribbean, work that has included meeting with the International Concerns Committee of Council, meeting with representatives of Latin American and Caribbean dioceses, and traveling to those regions of our church; and be it further

Resolved, That Council salutes the fruit of this work, a flexible plan that will offer equitable pension benefits and increased medical benefits to retired clergy and lay employees, a result which the Latin American and Caribbean members of the International Concerns Committee report is bringing great joy to members of their dioceses after many years of expressed concern; and be it further

Resolved, That Council expresses its gratitude for the dedicated and continuing work of Mr. Sullivan and Ms. Curtiss in developing viable pension plans for La Iglesia Anglicana de la Region Central de America and La Iglesia Anglicana de Mexico, former parts of the Episcopal Church that are now autonomous provinces of the Anglican Communion.
