Whereas, The Board of the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief has endorsed the utilization of funds derived from U. S. Government Grants in Refugee Resettlement and received by this Church through Church World Service for each refugee resettled; and

Whereas, The Church Center Staff Task Force on Refugees and Immigration matters has received and endorsed the utilization of such Funds to enable and strengthen the capability of the Church in sponsorship and resettlement of refugees; therefore be it

Resolved, That the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief receive such funds in accordance with the budget developed and adopted by the Board for the use of such funds derived from the U. S. Government subject to the Treasurer's determination that the terms of the Government grants, and the conditions set forth therein, are acceptable to the Society; with Finance Department at the Church Center providing such accounting procedures that insures the accountability for such funds, with the interest derived from these funds retained in the budget for the Resettlement of Refugees; and that the basis for the Domestic Refugee Grant process be in accordance with that adopted by the Fund's Board. Additional funds received to be accounted for and disbursed under the same procedure; and be it further

Resolved, That the Episcopal Church through the work and ministry of the Fund continue to seek and develop effective sponsorship programs both in the United States and other countries of asylum; and be it further

Resolved, That the dioceses and congregations of this Church be commended for their compassionate and exemplary response in having sponsored well over 4,200 refugees into the USA.
